3 Ways to Keep Halloween Fun During COVID

Let’s face it, the COVID-19 pandemic has made every celebration this year fall a little flat. I, for one, am officially over it. I’m so done letting the coronavirus take all the joy out of moments that are supposed to be fun! If you’re feeling let down that Halloween could be canceled this year, don’t worry; I’ve got you covered! Here are three ideas to help keep Halloween fund for your kiddos!

1. Trick-or-Treat to Those You Trust

Some of us may still be social distancing and others of us may be getting together with a few friends and family because they’re taking precautions. If you’re comfortable, pile up the kiddos in the car and drive them around to a few folks you trust so the kids can still go trick-or-treating. You can even make goodie bags for your peeps to pass out to the trick-or-treaters so they can fill their jack-o-lantern buckets even if you’re only hitting up a few houses.

2. Scavenger Hunt

Kids LOVE scavenger hunts! Hide a few treats for your children throughout the house with clues as to where everything is hidden. You can have as many or as few as you like! Make it more “spooky” by having the kids search in the dark with their flashlights or glow sticks! You can even give out a prize to whoever figures out the most clues!

3. Candy Buffet and Movie Night

If your kids have passed the age of trick-or-treating, grab a bunch of different candy and make a “candy buffet” (you could even make a candy cake)! Everyone can fill up a plate or bowl and then gather around the TV to watch Hocus Pocus (or maybe Curious George: A Halloween Boo-Fest for the younger crowd)!

What are your plans for Halloween this year? How do you plan on keeping it fun?
