Hey Mamas! This weeks weather is helping me get excited about a super fun race that is returning to OKC in April! No, I’m not talking about the OKC Memorial Marathon, which if you are participating in, WAY TO GO!!! All of the ice and snow we had recently interrupted my half marathon training schedule…on Day two 🙂 On that note, if you haven’t read Jenna’s latest post about becoming a runner, you should hop on over and check it out.
I will give you a clue as to what race I am talking about: If you have ever dreamed about running, walking, or dancing into a beautiful rainbow cloud, this is the one for you! Do you have a guess? It’s The Color Run!!
If you are not familiar with this particular run, they describe themselves as “a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality”. This is an un-timed course that is geared more towards having a great time with your friends than nurturing a competitive environment. HOW COOL IS THAT? No matter if it’s your first 5k or your fiftieth, you start the race in a white shirt and finish covered in a rainbow. On The Color Run blog, they’ve posted a beginners guide to running a 5k. If you are thinking you’d like to run this one, and you aren’t someone who runs, check this 8-week plan out!
For 2014, The Color Run is taking off on their Kaleidoscope Tour. If you have participated in the past, then you will notice more crazy and more fun for the race itself and the finish line party. They are giving each participant some really cool swag: T-shirt, shoulder bag, sweat band, tattoos, etc.
