How many of us have to opt out of last minute invitations because of lack of childcare? “OF COURSE I want to try that new place over on 23rd street for lunch. Let me see if I can figure something out.” That scenario rarely works out in your favor. And how many times has your babysitter had to cancel on date night, leaving you with no other option for the evening?

Moms of OKC – I found your solution- Spontaneity Kid Care.

It’s pretty genius, really. You drop off your kids anytime during hours of operation (M-Sat 9am-11pm) and pick them up whenever you are ready! That idea in and of itself was enough to have me fist-pumping, but the staff, facility, and attention to detail put me over the edge.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to use Spontaneity’s services for my 4 year old son and 1 year old daughter while I prepared for a trip out of town. Normally I would just suffer through packing and cleaning with whiny, clingy children underfoot, doing the best I could until they went to bed. Then I would have to make up for my lack of productivity by staying up way too late and being stressed and tired upon leaving town the next day. Add a heaping handful of guilt over not giving my kids the attention they were craving and you have a recipe for a less-than ideal way to start a vacation.

We drove over to Spontaneity, which is right off of the turnpike at Memorial and Portland- really convenient location. Easy highway access is a MUST if you want to optimize your childcare time, am I right? We walk in to a SPOTLESS facility, with play areas customized for varying age groups.   The kids remove their shoes before entering and place them in their own little cubby. My daughter beelines over to the infant and toddler area where there are push-toys (totally her jam) and a slide just her size that she can and WILL use for hours.

My son heads to the “big kid” area and takes on the twisty slide and the train table.

I filled out my paperwork and made sure to opt for the organic, allergy-free dinner, because if I’m being honest, dinnertime is far from my favorite time of the day. I will gladly hand that responsibility over!

The staff was diligent in asking about my kids’ routines and answering the annoying amount of questions I would give any sitter.

Then off I went, childless and ready to be productive. It was only a matter of minutes before I became curious as to how my littles were doing, so I conveniently logged onto their webcam app (you heard me!) to scope out their shenanigans. Both children were playing with staff members and having a blast. I had NO guilt for leaving them because I could see that they were enjoying themselves. I continued cleaning and packing but left the webcam up so that I could check on them periodically because I am THAT mom. I saw them play, eat dinner, read books, and play some more. The entire time there was a staff member with them who was completely attentive and engaged.

Upon pick-up I asked my son what he thought of the food and the play area and the girls working. His responses were, “The food was good. I reeeeeally liked those (paleo pumpkin) muffins! The toys were SO fun and the girl was nice too. I can come back and play again right?” Yes. Yes you can, little dude.

I can’t say enough good things about my experiences (yes, there have already been multiple) with Spontaneity Kid Care. The staff is friendly, reliable, and responsible. I have so much peace of mind leaving my kids with highly-trained, attentive adults in an environment that is DHS certified for safety and cleanliness. Here are some highlights that Spontaneity has to offer:
