We are so excited to introduce you to our newest contributors this week!  Next up, four awesome mamas who you are going to just LOVE. Meet Katy, Cece, Leigh Ann & Sarah!

Keep checking back this week to meet the rest of our newest team members – we’re thrilled to have them on board!

Katy

Katy1I was born and raised in Edmond, OK and after high school I attended NSU in Tahlequah where I majored in broadcast journalism. I met my husband Will while in school and we moved to his home town of Tulsa to begin our family where we resided for 8 years. We were relocated back to OKC about 3 years ago and while I really miss my Tulsa friends, I absolutely LOVE being home. We have 3 crazy, super loud, extremely fun kiddos ages 6, 4, and 2. My kids are my everything and I could have never anticipated the roller coaster of chaos that is my life now. We just recently moved on to 5 acres in Guthrie and I am terrified and also very excited for this next chapter in our lives. My favorite things are spending time with family & friends, music, going to the lake, reading, gardening, cherry blow pops, Dr. Pepper, crafting, cleaning, and fireworks. We are trying to raise our kids to be kind, loving, respectful human beings and to truly understand that no two humans are the same and to love people for who they are. I am very excited to share my sweet yet crazy family with you and connect with other moms!

1. What is the most random thing in your purse right now?
That would have to be the miscellaneous collection of toys – a Daniel Tiger book, matchbox cars, Shopkins, and many other small, teeny-tiny toys that take up way too much space.
2. Who is your favorite TV mom?
My all-time fave would have to be Norma Arnold from the ‘Wonder Years.’ She just always seemed so real to me. Tie for 2nd between Frankie Heck from ‘The Middle,’ & Danny Tanner from ‘Full House.’
3. Favorite thing to do with your children in Oklahoma City?
We love the zoo, botanical gardens, railway museum, science museum, and just exploring all the new fun things our city is adding. We can’t wait to try the new Ferris wheel on the Oklahoma river.
4. What are you most passionate about outside of motherhood?
There’s an outside of motherhood?! Totally joking. In my current place in life if I do have free time I love to garden and be outside, sometimes write, but usually just end up binge watching a Bravo show & eating terrible things. Ding Dongs do not last long in my pantry.

In my purse you can find extra shorts (potty training), chapstick, and 3 kinds of anti-bacterial gel. I’m a HUGE germaphobe.

4. What are you most passionate about outside of motherhood?
I am passionate about the well being of the children in our community. As a former teacher, I know the struggles many Oklahoma families face and believe it is our responsibility to help others. I enjoy volunteering with Impact Oklahoma, cuddling my rescue pups and training for my first 5K.
