A Letter To Our Teachers…..

Let me just start by saying THANK YOU.

Becoming a mother gave me a whole new perspective on teachers. I will NEVER understand how you do it. You not only keep 20-25 students engaged for hours on end but you do it calmly and while educating them! I have numerous times throughout my day where I can not even do that with three children… and they are MINE.

It is mind-boggling. Teachers are truly special souls put onto this earth.

I am a rookie to this whole school world since my oldest is in 1st grade this year. I am not going to lie – I was TERRIFIED of my girls being in a smaller, rural,  public school district. I was constantly second guessing our decision and had more anxiety over this decision than I would like to admit.

I could not have been MORE WRONG.

You have shown me this year that you are here solely for the children and you are truly passionate about what you do. It blows me away how my girls come home day-after-day with so much enthusiasm for learning and willingness to do so.

You have the most IMPORTANT job on this planet. You educate, nurture, counsel, guide, and LOVE our children day in and day out.  I am writing this in hopes that I can in some way make you get a sense of just how important you are to me, my family, and the community.

My babies are my entire world and you open your hearts to them, and for that I am forever thankful to you.

You choose to stay for the children.

You choose to open your own pocket books  just so the kids will not miss out on a learning opportunity.

You work tirelessly to make sure the children stay up to speed despite having a serious lack of supplies & resources.

You message with this crazy, forgetful, cupped-runneth-overith, passionately involved mommy to keep me up to speed or let me know its fine I’m running a wee bit late… again.

THANK YOU seriously. YOU ARE AWESOME.

I am constantly amazed by your kindness and generosity for the children and feel so grateful my babies have you to look up to.

You each, in your own way truly help save this mommy’s sanity, and for a mommy with three littles that is HUGE.

You are so open and easy to communicate with and for me that is so extremely important.

I just wanted you to know how truly important you are to myself, and my entire family. Thank you for being a teacher. Thank you for choosing to educate and inspire my babies to fall in love with learning.

Thank you for being you and allowing my girls to be exactly who they are. Thank you for being someone I can now call my friend.

One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.” – Carl Jung

Have you been blown away by your child’s teacher?

What outlets do you use to stay better informed on teaching issues?

My girls with there amazing teachers, Mr. Jay Benson, & Mrs. Shonna Trindle

I was born and raised in Edmond, OK and after high school I attended NSU in Tahlequah where I majored in broadcast journalism. I met my husband Will while in school and we moved to his home town of Tulsa to begin our family where we resided for 8 years. We were relocated back to OKC about 3 years ago and while I really miss my Tulsa friends, I absolutely LOVE being home. We have 3 crazy, super loud, extremely fun kiddos ages 8, 6, and 4. My kids are my everything and I could have never anticipated the roller coaster of chaos that is my life now. We live on 5 acres in Guthrie and I am terrified and also very excited for this next chapter in our lives. My favorite things are spending time with family & friends, music, going to the lake, reading, gardening, cherry blow pops, Dr. pepper, crafting, cleaning, and fireworks. We are trying to raise our kids to be kind, loving, respectful human beings and to truly understand that no two humans are the same and to love people for who they are. I am very excited to share my sweet yet crazy family with you and connect with other moms!
