Last Thursday night, several of you fabulous moms joined us in celebrating our launch of Oklahoma City Moms Blog at Apricot Lane, a cute little boutique in Penn Square Mall. Being the resident “Oklahoma new girl”, I had never been in this fabulous shop, so I was more than excited to get to try out a new place on a night where my children were in the safe care of my husband…in other words, I was able to carry a purse that did not have diapers or wipes inside and could carry on a conversation without stopping to ask someone if they needed to go potty.
Apricot Lane knows how to throw a party! They shut down the store just for us that evening, provided wine, sparkling cider and water, along with a delicious array of cheese and crackers! They even had napkins and balloons that coordinated with our OKC blog colors. How sweet is that?
Guests were able to register for door prizes: scarves, boot warmers and other stylish accessories.
There was some shopping…ok, lots of shopping!
We encouraged ladies to try on Apricot Lane’s amazing clothes to help us decide “Who Wore Apricot Lane the Best?” Voting is currently going on over at our Facebook page. Check out the adorable outfits these ladies put together and vote on your favorite style! Go check it out and help your fellow OKC mommas win the $100 gift card!
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. How many of you have read the books or seen the movies “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants?” If you have not, do not fear. The premise is that there’s a pair of pants that fits all of these differently shaped best friends and they share them. Well, my secret is that Apricot Lane is selling a pair of leggings that has harnessed the magic of the traveling pants. I’m not kidding. Everyone tried them on. Everyone looked fabulous in them (the three women in the picture above are wearing them). I, myself, am not a leggings wearer, but I bought a pair of these one size fits most pants. You cannot deny the power of the magic leggings!!! Aside from them being magic, they are fleeced lined. So now when you go out in winter with leggings on, you will actually be warm, instead of trying to convince yourself that you are because you’re trying to look cute.
We are so grateful to each and every one of you that came out. It was fun getting to meet you and we look forward to more events in the future.
We are also very thankful for the hard work that Apricot Lane put into helping us celebrate. It was so much fun and I know I will be heading back in to shop in the near future, as will the other ladies who didn’t snag a pair of black leggings before they sold out…(not kidding!)
Happy Monday! Did you come out to the launch party? What was your favorite part of the evening?
