La Petite Academy: The answer to all your child care questions

This is a sponsored post for La Petite Academy. However, all opinions are my own.

Being a working mom is not easy.

In fact, it takes circus-worthy skills to effectively juggle motherhood and career. There’s all the stuff you can’t fit into your day (doctor appointments, errands, groceries, illnesses, house cleaning). The moments of panic when you get a call that your child is sick and needs to be picked up IMMEDIATELY. The mental distraction that slips into boring meetings (did I buy diapers?), and the growing to-do list you’ll attempt to tackle at 5 o’clock.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also the nagging worry about who is taking care of your most prized possession (your child).

I respect and admire all my friends who are stay-at-home moms. But right now, it isn’t an option for my family’s situation. And, I’m okay with that.

After all, I grew up in day care. My mother worked as the assistant director of my child care center, and some of my fondest childhood memories occurred there. Playing with friends, dressing up, reading. Recently, I asked my mom about where those memories took place—low key hoping I could re-enroll as a 30-year-old woman.

The answer: La Petite Academy.

She explained that the open classroom concept of the center allowed me to move from station to station—harnessing my imagination outside of the same four walls. And, the creative and friendly atmosphere lead to the culmination of several childhood friendships.

La Petite Academy prides itself on providing a nurturing, creative atmosphere. And in my mom’s experience with management, this was the reality. From corporate office involvement to participation in community events, the child care center ran like a family operation—a comforting thing when you’re trusting them with your own family.

After all, family and friendships are a big deal.

Just the other day while scrolling through Facebook, I noticed a status that caught my eye. The poster was a former teacher of mine, and I briefly jogged down memory lane trying to remember at which school we’d met.

The answer: La Petite Academy.

Twenty-something years later, I’m still in contact with my day care teacher. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s pretty special. And as a busy, panicky, working mom—that kind of care and connection is something I can’t put a price on.
