Let’s face it, mamas: we live in Oklahoma City. As much as I love this city with my whole heart, its climate is…shall we say…unpredictable. Born and raised a Minnesota girl, I’m accustomed to seeking out indoor activities in the winter. Never did I imagine that I would need indoor play resources sporadically all year long!! We have winters that get too cold to be outside, summers that get too hot to be outside, and springs wrought with hail and tornados. If you’re like me and hate to be cooped up in the house with your kiddos for very long, this guide is for you!

Welcome to the 2019 Indoor Play Guide!

Stacy
Stacy grew up in Minnesota, but spent the next several years of her life traversing the globe, temporarily setting down roots anywhere and everywhere. Stacy is extremely passionate about the world of adoption and foster care, having spent a year in Uganda adopting her oldest daughter in 2008. Stacy married her husband Jesse in 2011, and they moved to Oklahoma City to grow their family. After a brief hiatus in Minnesota, Stacy and her beloved family of five returned to Oklahoma City in June of 2017. They are thrilled to be back "home" where sweet tea flows like water and they can fully embrace saying "Y'all". Stacy obtained a Master’s degree in child psychology in 2007, but currently uses it only on her own children! A stay-at-home mama since Baby #3 was born, Stacy has stayed busy keeping her children alive and relatively entertained. She loves her little crazy crew fiercely and is enjoying returning to all of their favorite local haunts. When she’s not chasing her kiddos, Stacy is likely traveling or daydreaming about traveling. She also enjoys coffee shops, copious amounts of “cop drama” shows, and perusing pinterest for ideas that have little chance of ever getting done. But they’re good to have. Just in case.

  1. Breakaway Indoor Playground in Edmond is WONDERFUL! They have a Toddler Tuesday Special as well. ($7.00 I believe). Bubba’s Indoor Playplace on MacArthur is also AMAZING! Both facilities are incredibly clean and safe. We Rock the Spectrum is also another great facility that is all inclusive. You can even bring your lunch and spend the day!

  2. My family and I have been going to Unpluggits in Edmond for several years and really enjoy it. There is someting for everyone to do. My husband and I work on ceramics and all the grandchildren have something to do. The older ones may do ceramics also, or bring their drawing supplies. The younger ones play on the playground, or do an activity in the main area.. They also have items for the younger ones to paint and take home that day. They have snacks to buy, or you can bring your own. You can also bring in your lunch. There are several long tables where you can bring you crafts and work on them. There are two party rooms for birthday parties, or you can rent them for something you want to do such as scrapbooking or sewing, etc.if you want more privacy or to be sure you have space.
