Hey Mama, did you know we’ve designed programs just for you and your little one at OKCMOA? This summer, come enjoy Tag-Along Tours, Babies at the Museum, and Museum Playdate, while surrounded by beautiful art and glorious air conditioning.
Join fellow (adult) art-lovers on a docent-led tour of OKCMOA exhibitions while baby tags along in a stroller or baby carrier. Mama, beef up your art cred as you explore and discover our summer exhibitions. Tour The New Art: A Milestone Collection Fifty Years Later in June, Isabelle de Borchgrave: Fashioning Art From Paper in July, and Dale Chihuly: Magic and Light in August with baby in tow.
Tag-Along Tours are designed for adults with babies ages 0 – 24 months who are comfortable staying in a stroller or carrier for about an hour. Maximum enrollment per session: 15 baby/adult pairs, $5 for members/$12 for non-members (price per adult), click here for more information and to register. Crying babies and tired grown-ups welcome.
Babies at the Museum and Museum Playdate
You may remember reading about our Babies at the Museum (BATM) program last summer here on OKCMB. BATM, for babies ages 0 to 24 months, will continue this summer, and we’re excited to offer a NEW gallery program for kiddos just a little bit older; Museum Playdate for 2 to 4 years old. During Playdate sessions, toddlers and preschoolers will sing, read, move, play, look, and listen with playmates in the galleries.
As always, BATM and Playdate include complimentary coffee for caregivers, playtime in our mezzanine, structured gallery activities, and full day admission so you can explore the Museum with your little one after the program ends. Maximum enrollment per session: 15 baby/adult pairs, $5 for members/$12 for non-members (price per adult), click here for more information on themes and dates and to register.
Discovery Packs and Sensory Booster Packs
Do you want to go to the Museum, but you’re not sure if taking a stroll through the galleries is enough to hold your little one’s attention? Pick up a Discovery Pack for free and create your own gallery adventure. Sketch, read, learn about artists, and more!
We appreciate that visitors need to explore the Museum in different ways. OKCMOA also provides Sensory Booster Packs with items such as noise-cancelling headphones, wiggle seats, and fidgets to checkout at the front desk for free during your visit. Just return all of the items when you’re finished! Find our other resources for families who have a member who is autistic or has sensory differences here. Call the Admissions Desk during business hours at (405) 278-8224 or email [email protected] with questions.
Bring your kiddos to OKCMOA anytime this summer and enjoy family friendly resources and gallery activities available at all times. For a “how to” guide on visiting as a family, check out our blog post here. Visit www.okcmoa.com/learn to explore our many other classes, events, and tours.
